Carolina Panthers Tickets – Draft Analysis

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

It is possible for Carolina Panthers tickets to jump in popularity in the offseason. It’s called the NFL Draft. The Panthers were able to land some solid new players in the Draft, and it’s certain that because of their help the Panthers will get better. But how? Will the rookies aid an area of the team that was already fine? Or were they drafted to help a need? After you get to thinking about the improvement in the stats next season, you can start looking for some good Carolina Panthers tickets to see first-hand the great new players.

The first two players that the Panthers selected were aimed at making the running game better. As you know, the worst Panthers stats from last season were recorded by the passing game (though with all the switching at QB that might be expected), so it was a bit odd that the Panthers were so focused on the ground. Carolina only managed to accrue 2,735 total passing yards in 2007, good for 29th in the league in that stat. Of course, after the passing game started to decline they turned up the rushing game. However, with only 7 total rushing TDs on the season (24th in the league), the Panthers still struggled to score points. On a positive note, Carolina was middle-of-the-pack in rushing yards per carry (4.0) thanks to DeAngelo Williams’ 5.0 Y/A. When the Panthers got up to pick for the 13th overall, they couldn’t help but get Jonathan Stewart, a running back from Oregon. Stewart slipped in the draft because some think he is an injury concern. The Panthers then brought in an offensive lineman, Jeff Otah, as their second pick. We really like this guy, as he will immediately help the panther to become a better running team. He’s better at driving and shoving than sliding and screening, so he’s definitely going to be used as a rush blocker. Both the passing game and the running game should improve with the Panthers’ first two selections.

With their third pick in the Draft, the Panthers brought in a cornerback, Charles Godfrey, from Iowa. As you might already know, on defense the Panthers were better at stopping the run than stopping the pass, but neither aspect of the defensive unit was particularly well-done. The Panthers kept their opponents to a measly 3.8 yards per attempt on the ground, which tied them in fourth place in the NFL as far as that stat goes. When you get Carolina Panthers tickets, you ought to expect to see Godfrey helping to keep opposing teams from going deep.

6 Fantastic Public Golf Courses in North Carolina

Friday, July 24th, 2009
The United States is blessed with many wonderful public golf courses, including several in the state of North Carolina. In this article, we will review some of the best public golf courses in the North Carolina, and what they offer.

1. Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Course in Southern Pines, was laid out by the Scottish born golf architect, Donald Ross. The course, which has always been lovingly maintained, has in recent years been restored back towards the original Donald Ross design, while the greens’ foundations have nevertheless been rebuilt to USGA specifications.

2., 3. and 4. Pinehurt Resort and Country Club in the village of Pinehurst is home to no less than 8 different golf courses as well as the Pinehurst Golf Academy. The most highly rated are No. 2, No. 4 and No. 8. The No. 2 course was designed by Donald Ross in 1907. The No. 4 and No. 8 courses are both designs by Tom Fazio (2000 and 1996 respectively), although the No. 4 course owes a great debt to an earlier Ross course on the same site. The No. 2 is especially known as a challenging course, not because of any individual feature, but because of the combination of features that it offers, and hence is a popular site for golf championships, more in fact than any other course in the country, including having hosted the 2005 U.S. Open Championship.

5. Rivers Edge Golf Course is an Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Shallotte. The course is home to spectacular landscapes, and six of the holes sit upon bluffs which overlook the Shallotte River and surrounding marshlands.

6. Ocean Ridge Plantation in Sunset Beach is home to four courses: “Lion’s Paw”, “Panther’s Run”, “Tiger’s Eye”, and new in 2007, “Leopard’s Chase”. While all the courses have something special to offer, perhaps the best known and most highly regarded is the “Tiger’s Eye” which has been rated as one of the best public golf courses in the country by Golf Digest.

Carolina Panthers Sets Fans’ Homes Aglow With Christmas Decorations

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009
The Carolina Panthers represents North Carolina and South Carolina in the National Football Conference South Division of the NFL. Their fans from North and South Carolina and everywhere will be delighted to know that the online NFL sports shop wants to help them make their holidays a tribute to their beloved Panthers. Be ready to make your holidays shine with silver and blue set against black – Panthers merchandise are now ready to decorate your home.

Carolina Panthers Christmas Decorations:

Start off your Christmas decorating with the Panthers Logo Snowman Christmas Wreath. This decor has Mr. and Mrs. Snowman sitting on the center of the wreath, both wearing the Panthers jersey with official logo. It is even complete with pine cones, holly berries, snowflakes, and Christmas trees for a truly Christmas-y feel. A “Happy Holidays” greeting is also displayed on official Panthers colors. This will surely be a nice way to welcome your visitors and friends.

Of course, the holiday decors will not be complete without the stockings. This is why the online NFL sports shop has made sure there are a couple of designs to choose from. There is a Carolina Panthers Santa Claus stocking – perfect for your bedroom door or on top of the fireplace. It features Santa’s head on top of the stocking which proudly displays the official Panthers logo and colors. It is made of soft fleece and is 22″ tall – perfect for Christmas goodies and gifts.

There’s also a Carolina Panthers Baby Mascot Stocking which is simply the suitable stocking for each of the little ones. It features a plush mascot in official Panthers colors and displays the Panthers logo proudly on top. Santa will surely know where to put the toys for those who have been nice all year.

Panther ornaments collectibles:

Here are some items you would want to collect not only for Christmas but also for the whole year. Check out the Panthers Double Ornament Set. These two ornaments are carefully made from glass and feature the Panthers logo and official colors. One of them is a Panthers helmet and one is a football with the Panthers logo. These will look perfect in your display case, as they do on your Christmas tree.

A truly remarkable ornament collectible is the Panthers Logo Laser Jersey. This collector’s item has the logo and team name of the Panthers laser etched with care. It looks just like a miniature Panthers jersey and even features the NFL logo on the neck line. It will certainly be a conversation starter when you invite your friends over.

Score a goal with a Panthers Logo Helmet Ornament, too. This item boldly shows the Panthers logo and official team colors. It’s simply wonderful to look at among your other Panthers memorabilia.

Carolina Vs. Kansas City

Panthers – 9 1/2 vs Chiefs

Oh Kansas City we hardly knew ye. After Week 3, the debate raged as to who was the worst team in the NFL. Was it the Detroit Lions who just dismissed their much-maligned General Manager Matt Millen? Was it the St. Louis Rams who kept getting blown away loss after loss or was it the Oakland Raiders whose head games with their head coach continued unabated? Despite all these teams’ problems, the consensus worst team by many NFL experts was the Kansas City Chiefs (1-3). Sure they gave the Tom Brady-less Patriots a run through the first three quarters in their opener, but had been DOA in the games after their tilt in Foxboro. There is nothing like a rivalry game to awaken a sleeping giant! Okay, perhaps sleeping giant would be a stretch, but Kansas City beating the previously undefeated Broncos may rank as last weekend’s biggest football upset. That is something considering USC, Florida and many of the other top 25 teams in college bit the dust over the weekend. Larry Johnson, remember him, ran for just a notch under 200 yards and propelled the Chiefs to an impressive 33-19 win over Denver.

The resurgent Carolina Panthers storm into this game with a 3-1 record after an exceptionally easy victory over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. Muhsin Muhammed and Jake Delhomme have reunited nicely on Tobacco Road and have been reenergized by Steve Smith returning. Look for the Panthers offensive attack to continue against the league’s 29th ranked defense in Kansas City. Although one can imagine Jay Cutler and his Bronco offense salivated at that same statistic and it did not work out very well for them, did it?

These teams have hardly had much history, playing each other only three times before, Kansas City claiming two victories in the series. Carolina is 2-0 at home in this young season, while Kansas City is still seeking their first victory away from Arrowhead.
